The Biomedical Simulations and Imaging (BIOSIM) Laboratory was founded in 1999 and is part of the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS) and the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). The Laboratory is involved in research, mainly in the following areas:

The BIOSIM Laboratory is also responsible of, or is contributing in, teaching courses offered at both undergraduate (Microwaves, Medical Imaging and Digital Image Processing, Laboratory in Biomedical Engineering, Simulation of Physiological Systems,e-Health and m-Health Technologies) and postgraduate (Bioelectromagnetics, Bioinformatics) level at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) and the School of Applied Mathematical and Physical Sciences (AMPS). Currently the Laboratory consists of 25 people, 13 of which hold a Ph.D. degree and 12 are Ph.D. candidates. A number of 10-12 diploma theses are developed per year under the supervision of experienced staff. Over the last years the BIOSIM Laboratory has been involved in 30 European or National funded projects.
