Professor Konstantina Nikita is the 21st Editor-in-Chief in IEEE TAP's over 70-year history

In July 2022, the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society announced that NTUA Professor Konstantina Nikita would become the Editor-in-Chief of its flagship Journal, the IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation (TAP). Nikita is the 21st Editor-in-Chief in the Journal’s over 70-year history. This is the first time a female scholar has been appointed to this position, and also the first time that the editorship for the journal is based at a European institution.

Konstantina Nikita takes over as Editor-in-Chief for the IEEE TAP in October 2022, working with a distinguished team of 70 Senior, Track, and Associate Editors to ensure the journal continues to attract the most interesting and impactful studies across all sub-fields in antennas and propagation. Previously, she held the positions of Associate Editor at IEEE TAP, IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering (TBME), IEEE Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics (JBHI), and founding Editor-in-Chief at the IEEE Open Journal of Antennas and Propagation (OJAP) from 2019 to 2022.

“I am honored to have inherited this amazing global platform of scholarship. I am thrilled to embark on taking TAP to the next level while celebrating and appreciating its strong foundations,” Nikita says.

With more than 400,000 members in more than 160 countries, IEEE is the world's largest technical professional association for the advancement of technology. The IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society currently has over 9,500 members giving TAP powerful reach and impact across the globe. The studies published in the journal shape scholarly conversations, inspire new research trajectories, and advance practice in antenna technologies.
