Professor Konstantina Nikita Honored by the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society for Transformative Leadership and Outstanding Contributions to Scientific Publications and Global Impact

Professor Konstantina Nikita of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) was honored for her transformative leadership and exceptional service in advancing the publications, visibility, and global impact of the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society. The distinction was presented during the 2026 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation and USNC-URSI Radio Science Meeting, held in July in Detroit, USA.

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is the world’s largest technical professional organization, with more than 533,000 members across more than 190 countries, and is dedicated to advancing technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity. Through its extensive global network, high-impact scientific publications, conferences, development of international technology standards, and educational and professional activities, IEEE plays a central role in the global engineering and technology community. The IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society, with more than 17,000 members worldwide, advances research, education, and international collaboration in the fields of antennas, electromagnetic wave propagation, and electromagnetics.

Professor Nikita currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, one of the leading international scientific journals in the field, and previously served as the founding Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Open Journal of Antennas and Propagation. This distinction recognizes her longstanding and multifaceted contributions to the international scientific community, particularly to the development, advancement, and global reach of high-impact scientific publications, while also underscoring NTUA’s sustained presence and engagement in leading international scientific and technological organizations.
