Professor Nantia Nikita has been appointed Editor-in-Chief of the new IEEE Open Journal of Antennas and Propagation, the first fully open access publication from the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society, that launches in September 2019.

Professor Nantia Nikita has been appointed Editor-in-Chief of the new IEEE Open Journal of Antennas and Propagation (IEEE OJAP), the first fully open access publication from the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (AP-S). The IEEE OJAP spans the full scope of the AP-S field of interest and encompasses: antennas, including analysis, design, development, measurement, standards, and testing; radiation, propagation, and the interaction of electromagnetic waves with discrete and continuous media; and applications and systems pertinent to antennas, propagation, and sensing, such as applied optics, millimeter-and sub-millimeter-wave techniques, antenna signal processing and control, radio astronomy, and propagation and radiation aspects of terrestrial and space-based communication, including wireless, mobile, satellite, and telecommunications at all frequencies.

The IEEE OJAP will draw on the expert technical community to continue IEEE’s commitment to publishing the most highly-cited content. Nantia Nikita is supported by a diverse team of outstanding technical experts that have been selected due to their academic excellence in the field. IEEE OJAP's goal is to publish quickly—the rapid peer review process is targeting a publication time frame of 10 weeks for most accepted articles. This journal is fully open and compliant with funder mandates such as Plan S as all articles will be published under Creative Commons Attribution Licenses (CC-BY).

IEEE OJAP is now accepting article submissions. The first articles are expected to appear in the IEEE Xplore digital library in early 2020.
